Practical Psychology for Performing

A Practical Psychology for Performing workshop to help you:

  • Understand performance anxiety, and what to do about it
  • Understand what audiences, adjudicators and examiners want from performances, and how to engage them as allies
  • Develop a secure technique in line with the body’s natural instincts and movements. (We tend to underestimate the sheer physical preparation involved in secure performances. If our bodies don’t feel secure, they will shake.)
  • Know how to practice and prepare physically, emotionally and mentally for a secure and deeply satisfying musical performance that you, yourself, enjoy giving.

“Learning how to prepare myself and pupils for performing was particularly valuable” NG Teacher

"I just wanted to add my personal thanks ... I was able to play the Rachmaninov in a public setting with a level of assurance and control that, frankly, took me completely by surprise, and shows just how far I’ve come in these past two years working with you" NG Piano player
